AMPANG – Police have arrested five individuals over a fight that occurred at the Taman Seraya roundabout
The suspects, aged 16 to 48-years-old, were apprehended at Taman Bukit Teratai and Taman Pandan Mewah.
Ampang Jaya Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident happened around 4.30 pm on Wednesday (Nov 24)
“Two men were on their way to the workplace in a lorry prior to the fight with two men and a woman in a Myvi.
“The 48-year-old lorry driver then obstructed the Myvi with his vehicle and a physical conflict broke out,” he said when contacted by The Star.
He added that several weapons were used during the fight, including a saw and an umbrella, which have been confiscated by the police.
Mohamad Farouk also said investigations revealed that a misunderstanding between the two parties was the cause of the fight.
The case will now be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.
