Late Hong Kong actor Benz Hui will continue helping others even after his passing, as his family announced that all condolence money from his funeral will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
The Hui family shared the update in an obituary on Oct. 31, where they remembered him as someone who was warm, generous, and always ready to lend a hand.
A quiet farewell, just as he wanted
The family explained that Hui had wished for a simple, modest send-off without unnecessary grandeur.
In line with that, they requested that instead of flowers or elaborate offerings, friends and relatives can channel their thoughts into acts of charity.
They added that the family hopes to honour Hui’s spirit by turning their grief into something meaningful for children battling cancer.
The funeral will be held on Nov. 17 at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Hong Kong.

Longtime Hong Kong star who called Singapore home
Hui, 76, passed away on Oct. 28 after battling cancer that eventually led to multiple organ failure.
Although he built his career in Hong Kong, Hui spent his later years in Yishun, Singapore, where he was a permanent resident. He had previously mentioned wanting to retire fully in Singapore.
Many would recognise him as Foon Hei Gor, the formidable but beloved figure from TVB’s Line Walker franchise.
Tributes poured in
Following news of his death, public figures, industry peers and fans shared their condolences online.
Just days later, on Nov. 1, his longtime friend and fellow actor Stanley Fung also passed away at 81.
Fung had earlier written a touching line for Hui:
Brother, wait for me on the other side.”
