A 69-year-old taxi driver who lived alone was found dead at his home in Kepong after neighbours detected a strong foul odour coming from his house earlier this morning.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident was discovered around 9.30am at a terrace house in Taman Sri Segambut, Kepong, when residents alerted security guards after noticing the smell. The guards later confirmed the man’s death near the entrance of his home.
Believed to have collapsed while preparing to go out
According to Lai Chun Chian, the assistant to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, he rushed to the scene after being notified by residents and subsequently informed the police and Fire and Rescue Department.

The victim was found lying near the metal gate inside his house. It is believed that he may have collapsed suddenly while preparing to go out,” Lai said.
Based on the condition of the body, he is believed to have been dead for more than five days.”
Neighbours raised alarm after foul smell
Lai added that neighbours had not seen the victim for several days. When they began noticing a stench coming from his home, they contacted security personnel to check, which led to the grim discovery.
Firefighters later arrived to force open the metal gate and remove the body.
The victim’s remains have since been sent to the hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have classified the case as a sudden death and are continuing their investigation.
