A woman in her 80s was recently caught in a viral video driving against the flow of traffic on the Damansara–Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) on Monday night (May 18).
In the clip, a motorcyclist is seen capturing the red Kenari travelling along the highway while multiple cars honked incessantly to warn the woman of the danger she posed to herself and others.

Thankfully, the woman came to a stop and she was angrily confronted by a passing driver who yelled at her for putting other people’s safety at risk with her actions.

A follow-up comment to the post later revealed that the woman had no idea how to use navigation apps to get herself out of the situation and had to be assisted by highway patrol officers.
Arrested
In a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, he said the incident took place at around 10pm at KM10.8 of the highway.
He added preliminary investigations found that the woman had lost her way while on the way home and inadvertently drove against traffic while looking for an exit.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Shamsuddin said the woman was arrested the next day and police are probing the case under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
Witnesses are also urged to come forward by contacting the nearest police station, investigating officer Insp S Jayseelan at +6018-2582531, or the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at +603-79662222.
