A touching moment along the North-South Expressway recently warmed the hearts of many Malaysians after an elderly man was seen stranded by the roadside when his motorcycle allegedly ran out of petrol.
Thankfully, the situation ended on a heartwarming note when another rider stopped to help him.
Elderly man seen trying to stop passing vehicles
According to a video shared in the Facebook group Penang Kini, the incident allegedly took place along the PLUS Highway between Jawi and Bandar Baharu.
The person who recorded the video said he noticed an elderly man standing beside his motorcycle near the road shoulder, with the bike believed to have run out of fuel.

The elderly man was then seen attempting to stop passing vehicles for help.
However, due to the heavy traffic and fast-moving cars along the highway, many drivers were unable to stop in time, forcing the man to continue waiting dangerously close to the busy road.
The OP admitted that the situation made him feel extremely worried.
Seeing this situation really made me worried. I wanted to help too, but I was outside the highway barrier and couldn’t do much,” he shared.
Contacted PLUS for assistance
Concerned for the elderly man’s safety, the OP said he immediately contacted PLUS highway authorities to inform them about the situation and request assistance.
Fortunately, not long after, another motorcyclist stopped by the roadside to check on the elderly man and stay with him while waiting for highway personnel to arrive.

The kind act deeply touched the OP who expressed gratitude towards the rider for stepping forward to help a stranger in need.
“At that moment, I was really touched. There are still many kind people in this world. Thank you to the brother who was willing to help,” he wrote.
Netizens moved
The video quickly gained attention online, with many netizens praising both the rider who stopped to help and the original poster who contacted highway authorities.
Many described the moment as a perfect example of the kindness and friendliness Malaysians are known for, especially when it comes to helping strangers in difficult situations.
