An intoxicated man took his rage out on an ATM machine after it ‘swallowed’ his bank card and didn’t dispense it back to him while making a transaction.
Utusan reported that the incident took place at Jalan Bestari 6/2, Taman Nusa Bestari in Johor at 3.15am today.

Damaged ATM over ‘swallowed’ ATM card
According to Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP Rahmat Ariffin, the 35-year-old suspect became angry after the ATM machine had ‘swallowed’ his bank card and never returned it back to him.
In a state of rage, he then proceeded to damage the ATM machine by trying to break the screen.

The suspect also kicked a rubbish bin which was near the ATM machine, sending piles of receipts and trash strewn everywhere.
“The Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) of the Iskandar Puteri District Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division successfully nabbed the suspect who had damaged public property.
“He will be investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief resulting in loss or damage,” he said in a statement.

The suspect faces a jail term of a maximum of five years, a fine, or both upon conviction.
