After formally retiring on April 21 following 35 years of working for the government, including serving as the Health director-general, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham has made a return as a surgeon at Putrajaya Hospital.
Yesterday (Oct 3), Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah took to his own social media account @DGHisham to announce his remarkable return as a surgeon at the Endocrine Institute at the Putrajaya Hospital.

According to the post’s caption, Dr. Noor Hisham said that his new role will see him starting the surgery session every Monday and running the clinic every Tuesday.
He also added that he hopes to see the Endocrine Institute further strengthen medical and endocrine surgery services within the country and aim to become a center of international excellence in the field.
Additionally, Dr. Noor Hisham said the Endocrine Institute at the Putrajaya Hospital boasts of impressive facilities, including a 10-story block with 220 beds and an intensive care unit equipped with 10 beds for adults and eight for pediatrics.
On top of that, it features an Integrated Neuro-Endocrine hybrid operating theater and four operating theaters, which began operations just last week.

Naturally, Malaysians were thrilled to see the hero of the Covid-19 pandemic return to full glory in the medical field and gave a warm welcome to the news.
