A heartwarming reunion shared on Threads has touched many after a Malaysian family surprised their domestic helper, Itri, by bringing her daughter from Indonesia to Malaysia after more than three years apart.
Hadn’t seen her daughter for over 3 years
Taking to Threads, @elysyaannys shared that Itri had spent more than three years away from her daughter while working in Malaysia.
She said Itri once told her that her daughter was only three years old when she left her home in Indonesia.
According to her sharing, Itri left while her daughter was still asleep as she did not want to see her child cry when she departed.
They brought Itri’s daughter to Malaysia
Throughout her time with the family, Itri had been helping to care for @elysyaannys’ children, something the latter expressed her gratitude for in the post.
Wanting to do something meaningful for her, @elysyaannys arranged for Itri’s daughter to travel to Malaysia so that the pair could finally see each other again.
In the video shared on Threads, Itri was visibly overwhelmed by the surprise and broke down in tears as the long awaited reunion unfolded.
Her daughter is now 6 years old
She also revealed that Itri’s daughter is now six years old, having been just three when her mother first left Indonesia.
In her post, she thanked Itri for taking good care of her children throughout the years the domestic helper had been working away from her own daughter.
After more than three years of separation, the touching surprise finally gave Itri the chance to be reunited with her daughter in Malaysia.
