It was nothing but chaos and mayhem for a clothing shop at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, on Saturday (Apr 1) after thousands of shoppers turned up to purchase its discounted Baju Raya collection.
Several clips of the incident has been making rounds on social media, where it showed shoppers jostling with each other to get their hands on the clothing.

In the clips which have been circulating wildly on TikTok and Twitter, scores of shoppers could be seen waiting to flood their way into the shop as security guards struggled to maintain control.
Unfortunately, their efforts were no match for the frenzied crowd, who stormed their way in and began grabbing whatever clothing they could find, leaving a chaotic trail in the process.

A security guard was also reportedly injured as a result of the incident, where he was seen being helped by a colleague as he hobbled on one foot.

NST reported that the said shop which specialised in ready-to-wear Muslim fashion had announced that it was offering a limited number of early birds the opportunity to buy items at super low prices.
Some netizens also claimed that the first few customers were offered to purchase fashion clothing at RM1 only.
Netizens condemn ‘animal-like’ behavior
The chaotic scene has since shocked netizens, who were dumbfounded to see the display of recklessness by the shoppers.
“I don’t have money to buy baju raya this year but I won’t buy one for RM1 in such an undignified manner.”

“(The shoppers) don’t seem to be civilised, all are like animals.”

A netizen lamented over the sight of shoppers fighting with each other over discounted Baju Raya and said that it was at odds with the Ramadan message which called for moderation.
