Dadi Cinema, the second-largest cinema chain in China, has announced that it will be shutting down its Pavilion KL outlet effective tomorrow (Mar 5).
This comes after the cinema was in operation for a total of three years since its official opening on November 1, 2021.
In an announcement made on its Facebook page, Dadi Cinema said the closure comes after its tenancy agreement came to an end.
“For all these years, it has been our greatest joy to welcome you — to laugh together, cry together, and share countless unforgettable moments on the big screen. Your support, smiles, and love for movies have meant more to us than words can express.
“Thank you for being part of our story. Though this chapter comes to an end, the memories will forever remain in our hearts,” the announcement read.
Dadi Cinema also added that its Central Square outlet in Sungai Petani, Kedah, will continue operations as usual.
The management of Pavilion KL has since released a statement saying that Dadi Cinema’s spot will be taken over by TGV Cinemas.
