A Malaysian couple was killed, and their child was severely injured in an accident involving five vehicles, including a lorry, at KM 46 Kampung Selamat, Sungai Tong, yesterday (25 Mar).

The incident occurred around 1:30 pm, with Faizul Azman Awang, 43, and his wife, Habsah Ismail, 42, dying at the scene.
Their child, Muhammad Daniel Dzulkarnain, 13, suffered severe facial injuries.

Setiu District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Afandi Hussin, said the accident involved a lorry driven by a 28-year-old man, a Proton Exora, Nissan Navara, Perodua Axia, and Toyota Wish.
He added that the family of three, who lived in Taman Balok Permai, Kuantan, and Pahang, were travelling in the Proton Exora.

“A total of 16 individuals were involved in this accident, with two victims being the husband and wife who died at the scene.
The couple’s child sustained severe facial injuries, while the 52-year-old driver of the Nissan Navara experienced shoulder pain,” he said.
Afandi also mentioned that the drivers and passengers of the other vehicles were not injured.
He added that the weather was good during the incident, and the road had two straight lanes.
On the way back after funeral
Harian Metro reported that victims were on their way back after attending the funeral of Faizul’s brother.
Before the incident, Habsah had posted her last status update on Facebook expressing her sadness over the loss of her brother-in-law.

“Your departure on the best day and month.. may the deceased be placed among the believers… condolences to my sister-in-law’s family… no more jokes and laughter…
brother Gie will always be in our memories… he always used to wait for us when we went to Besut… oh God, may your paradise be for my brother-in-law… amen,” she wrote on Facebook.
The couple were known to have only brought their son to Besut, while their eldest and second child did not join them.
