A Chinese tourist has gone viral on social media after sharing that her experience in Malaysia turned out to be far warmer and safer than what she had previously seen on the internet.
In her post on Xiaohongshu, she said the kindness of strangers she met throughout her trip completely changed her perception of the country.
“Everyone is so helpful!”
According to her, the positive encounters began the moment she landed. When she and her friend could not locate the designated pick-up point, a young Malaysian man approached them unprompted to ask if they needed help.

Later, their e-hailing driver even got out of his car and ran over from a distance to assist them with their luggage.
She admitted she initially assumed he wanted a tip, only to realise he had no such intention even after dropping them off—something that left her feeling guilty for her early judgment.
Motorcyclist approach to warn them
She also described an incident where a motorcyclist approached them while they were eating by the roadside.
At first, she panicked, thinking he meant harm, but he simply wanted to remind them to keep their bags and phones closer to avoid snatch thefts.
I misunderstood him at first, I’m felt so sorry to assume,” she wrote.
The tourist recounted that a ride-hailing driver later warned the two women not to return too late at night and even shared a list of local restaurants and attractions he personally recommended.

Even late at night, she continued to meet helpful locals that stay with them until they found a e-hailing driver.
Planning to come back again
Speaking to WeirdKaya, she shared that she spent one week in Malaysia and visited both Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.
I will definitely come back again. Malaysia is one of the friendliest countries I’ve visited!” she said.
She also mentioned that she is already planning to visit Penang next.
