Recently, Malaysians were shocked by a foreign couple casually cruising on a busy road with a scooter.
Now, our neighbours in Thailand have witnessed a similar incident that has captured the attention of many.
A viral video shows a woman riding a motorised suitcase along a busy road in Bangkok.
A recent TikTok video posted by user @wutthina55 has gone viral, garnering over 2 million views.
The video features a woman riding a motorised suitcase down a bustling road in Bangkok.
The woman casually uses her phone while weaving through traffic, all without a helmet and pulling a second suitcase. To add to the drama, she was also caught lane-splitting.
According to Nation Thailand, the police have clarified that under the Vehicles Act and Road Traffic Act of 1979, a suitcase is not classified as a vehicle and, therefore, cannot be registered or legally used on public roads.
Using such an item on a road is considered “blocking traffic” and is a violation of the Road Traffic Act.
Further investigations revealed that the woman in the video was a China tourist who had already departed Thailand on Thursday, August 22.
Authorities have urged the public to report any unsafe use of public roads and vehicles to the traffic police hotline at 1197.
