For most roads in any country, cars are usually the sole mode of transportation that’s allowed to be driven, while other vehicles such as scooters are forbidden due to safety reasons.
A foreign tourist triggered many Malaysian netizens after a clip showed him and a female companion cruising down a busy road in KL, raising concern over the lack of regard for his and others’ personal safety.
Angmoh man casually cruises on busy road with scooter
In an Instagram reel shared by a user named @nikhaelneil, it showed the foreigner taking a rather leisure ride with a scooter along a busy road located somewhere in KL.
Joining him for the ride was a young woman dressed in a brown top and black shorts, who was seen enjoying the trip.
At one point, she was even caught filming the scenery with her handphone while holding onto the man with one hand.
While it’s clear that the duo were enjoying every moment, their action was rather dangerous as well as they could be hit by an oncoming car if the driver failed to notice them.
‘How is this allowed?’
Needless to say, netizens were highly critical of the duo’s selfishness and them endangering their lives and others’ by using a scooter to get around the busy road.
‘Please respect the local traffic rules…don’t harm other road users.’
‘This is literally asking for double trouble.’
One joked that the OP should have wound down his car window and yell the popular phrase, ‘You think this is your father’s road ah?’
Meanwhile, some were baffled as to how the foreigner managed to get a scooter on the road in the first place as it was a banned vehicle.
