Football fever is real, but things allegedly got a little too heated at a mamak stall in Johor following the tense Argentina-Egypt match.
According to China Press, a fight reportedly broke out at a mamak shop in Taman Universiti, Skudai, after two groups of football fans who supported different teams allegedly clashed during a livestreamed World Cup match.
The incident was believed to have happened last night, after Argentina defeated Egypt in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Based on videos circulating online, a group of people were seen arguing loudly outside the mamak shop.
At one point, someone was allegedly seen throwing a chair, while others appeared to push and scuffle with one another.
The commotion prompted the mamak operator to shut off the big screen showing the live match in an attempt to calm the situation.
Some netizens were also confused by the clash, saying Malaysia was not even playing in the World Cup and questioning why fans would fight over another country’s match.

While football passion is understandable, many netizens said the incident was a reminder that watching a match should never turn into violence.
