KLANG – Food delivery applications such as GrabFood and FoodPanda usually give customers the option to add special instructions such as asking for more chilli sauce, no coriander etc.
However, this feature has also been widely abused by users who would turn it into a means of expressing disgust or disrespect to delivery riders.
Yesterday (March 9), a Facebook user named Sabah Sahnor posted a screenshot of a delivery order on the “GrabFood Rider Official”Facebook group and has made its rounds on social media, earning the ire of netizens in the process.
In the screenshot, a customer named Syah Mi ordered a KFC meal set via the food delivery app and left a “cepat hantar bab*” (Deliver it quickly, pig) remark in the special instructions section. It is believed that the incident occurred in Klang.
Netizens were incensed over the screenshot, accusing the customer of being insensitive and pointed out that the special instruction section’s purpose is to customize the order according to the customer’s needs, not a platform to utter derogatory words.
Many also suggested to the OP (original poster) to lodge a police report and bring the matter to Grab’s management for further investigation.
Netizen Mohamad Idham said that he would give the customer only one star out of five to alert and warn the customer of his behaviour.
The post has since received more than 400 reactions and shares on Facebook.
