In recent weeks, parts of Malaysia have been experiencing adverse weather in the form of torrential rain and thunderstorms.
And it seems that even buildings are feeling the brunt of the weather, with a part of the ceiling collapsing within a mall in Bangsar.
Ceiling collapses inside mall at Bangsar
In a Xiaohongshu (XHS) video shared yesterday (Dec 18), it showed a mall in Bangsar having a gaping hole at the top of the structure after a section of the ceiling gave way.
A slab of the collapsed ceiling is seen landing on one of the tables placed at a food court inside the mall, causing it to topple over.

The floor of the food court was also dampened due to the rain flowing through the gap in the ceiling.
According to the OP, the ceiling gave way following heavy rains and that it occurred during noontime, where foot traffic was at its peak. However, no one was reportedly hurt in the incident.
Thank goodness it didn’t happen during lunchtime or else the results would have been devastating. Even as a passerby, seeing this makes me break into cold sweat. Guess I need to have hotpot tonight to calm myself,” the OP wrote.

WeirdKaya has reached out to the mall for further comment on the matter but has yet to receive a reply at the time of writing.
