In an unusual turn of events, a cat in Sandakan found itself stuck in a coffee table hole, much to the dismay of its owner.
According to Apm Sandakan, the incident, which occurred on Monday at Taman Permata, involved a tabby cat whose head was firmly lodged in the hole of a coffee table.
Cut open the coffee table to rescue the cat
The concerned owner, seeing her beloved pet in distress, immediately called the MERS999 emergency line for assistance.
PKOD Sandakan received the call from the Sabah Civil Defense Force (PKON Sabah) and quickly dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, the rescue team assessed the situation and, with careful precision, used a saw to carefully cut open the coffee table.
After a delicate operation, the team successfully freed the cat and handed it back to the relieved owner.

Photos of the rescue were later shared on the Sandakan Civil Defense Force’s official Facebook page, garnering positive reactions from the public, with many praising the efforts of the rescue team.
All personnel involved in the operation and their equipment were reported to be in good condition after the rescue.
