KUALA LUMPUR – Female drivers often face greater risks on the road as they are physically weaker than men and have to rely on others to help them out when untoward incidents happen.
Recently, a netizen named Kokong Yee posted three videos on Facebook about a woman getting carjacked.

The videos showed how the dramatic event unfolded, which began with the woman standing helplessly as she watched her car being driven away. Luckily, some brave members of the public decided to give chase to the carjacker and managed to catch up with him, where they hauled him out of the car and wrestled him to the ground.

In the background of the last video, a stranger asked the woman how she was carjacked while driving halfway on the road.
“As I stopped my car at the traffic light (near NSK Kuchai Lama), the carjacker suddenly appeared from the backseat. I was so shocked that I got down from the car before he drove it away.”

When asked how the carjacker was apprehended, one of the bystanders who helped the woman said that it was a joint effort.
“Everyone worked together to block the car.”
According to the post, the incident happened along the route from Sri Petaling to Jalan Kuchai Lama.
What made this incident extra heartwarming is the fact that people from all races were willing to give a hand to the woman, with a Malay man taking the initiative to give the woman a ride, a Chinese man pulling the handbrake to prevent the carjacker from escaping, and a few Indians surrounding the car and comforting the woman. This is the true 1Malaysia spirit!

Always be alert to your surroundings when you’re outside and LOCK your car doors. Most importantly, be willing to send help to those in need!
