A Malaysian man recently found himself on the receiving end of online backlash after complaining about a flight attendant who allegedly refused to help lift a passenger’s luggage into the overhead compartment.
The man had taken to Threads to vent about what he described as “poor service” from an older cabin crew member.
“She’s already so old and still flying?”
According to his post, he saw an elderly female passenger asking the attendant for help to stow her bag, but the attendant politely declined.

She’s already so old and still flying? Can’t even help lift a bag? Such bad attitude!” fuming, he wrote.

He added that passengers “pay for service, not just for flight attendants to smile and put on makeup.”
However, his post didn’t earn him the sympathy he expected — instead, it sparked a fiery debate online.

‘Helping is a favour, not an obligation’
Many netizens quickly came to the defence of cabin crew, pointing out that their main duty is to ensure passengers’ safety and handle emergencies, not to act as porters.
