In a significant move to support the nation’s workforce, the government has announced a minimum wage increase as part of Budget 2025.
Starting February 1, the minimum wage will rise from RM1,500 to RM1,700 per month, ensuring better income stability for employees across various industries.

To ease the transition, businesses with fewer than five workers will benefit from a six-month grace period. For these smaller employers, enforcement of the new wage rule will begin on August 1, 2025, giving them additional time to adjust to the policy shift.
