In a historic achievement for Malaysia, Sin Li Jane secured a landmark victory at the US Women’s Open, becoming only the second Asian champion in the tournament’s history since its inception in 1949.
Defeated Latvia’s second seed
Li Jane, showcasing her top-tier skills, triumphed over Latvia’s second seed Dania Zavjalova with a score of 226-214 in the one-game final held at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday.

This victory marks Li Jane’s third win of the season and her fourth overall on the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour. Her outstanding performance earned her a prize of US$60,000 (RM283,000).

Prior to this, the best result by a Malaysian bowler in the US Women’s Open was achieved by Shalin Zulkifli, who finished third in 2008.
