The worker was tempted to stay, but netizens warned that the offer may have come too late.
A worker in Taiwan found himself facing a difficult decision after his boss suddenly offered him a significant pay raise.
The catch was that the offer only came after he submitted his resignation letter.

Salary raised from RM4,042 to RM5,053
Reported by TTN, the worker shared that he had already been planning to leave the company and had started preparing for his next move.
However, after handing in his resignation letter, his boss immediately offered to increase his monthly salary from NT$32,000, which is around RM4,042, to NT$40,000, or approximately RM5,053.
This meant he was being offered an increase of around RM1,000 per month just to remain with the company.
Unsurprisingly, the worker admitted that he was tempted by the offer.

Worried that nothing would actually change
Despite the higher salary, the worker was concerned that the offer was only a temporary attempt to convince him to stay.
He worried that once he withdrew his resignation, the problems that initially made him want to leave would remain unresolved.
Unsure of what to do, he turned to netizens for advice.
Many commenters encouraged him to proceed with his resignation, saying that the company could have offered him a higher salary before he decided to leave.
Some also warned that accepting a counteroffer may not solve the original reasons behind his decision to resign.
Decided to leave after reading the comments
After considering the advice he received, the worker revealed that he had decided not to accept his boss’s offer.
He added that he had found another company that told him his monthly salary could eventually reach NT$50,000, or approximately RM6,316, if he performed well.
In the end, the worker chose to move forward with his resignation instead of staying for the sudden salary increase.
