A boss in China has once again made headlines after announcing that every single employee and intern at his company will receive a brand-new iPhone 17 Pro Max — and yes, the company will even cover the taxes.
The announcement came right after the iPhone 17 launch event, where the boss, Tim Pan, dropped the bombshell in the company’s internal chat:
Old rules. Everyone gets an iPhone 17 Pro Max (or another model if you prefer). Doesn’t matter if you’re new, an intern, or just joined today — as long as you’re in the company right now, you’re getting one. And don’t worry about the taxes, the company’s got it covered.”
This annual tradition has quickly become the envy of netizens, with many jokingly tagging their own bosses:
Why can’t my boss be like this?”
Some staff members who were at the Apple launch event said they couldn’t decide whether to pick the white or orange model because “both looked too good.”
Not the first time
This isn’t the first year Tim Pan has splurged on his employees.
Last year, his company gifted iPhone 16 Pros to everyone on staff, making it clear that appreciation for employees’ hard work comes with some serious perks.
With the iPhone 17 Pro Max priced at a premium, this year’s giveaway is estimated to cost the company a six-figure sum at the very least.
