The body of an unidentified man was found abandoned near a seaside at Lebuh Macallum in Penang at midnight today (Mar 9), with police believing he may have been murdered.
According to a report by China Press, the grisly discovery was made by the special police patrol unit from the Jalan Patani police station.
Wounds found on body
While the victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed, it is believed to be that of a foreigner.
Police also found injuries on the left side of his head, including one allegedly caused by a blunt object. A preliminary examination conducted by a forensic pathologist suggested that he may have been beaten to death.

Several objects were also recovered by the forensics team, including two stones, wooden stick fragments, a mineral water bottle, and hair samples.
Blood stains were found on the stones and wooden stick fragments, leading police to suspect they were used in bludgeoning the victim.
They are also working to determine how the victim and suspect managed to enter the area which was restricted to the public.

The victim’s body was later sent to the Penang Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
