Summary of events
Today, it was reported that police discovered a highly decomposed body believed to be Yap’s in Banting. However, they are currently waiting for a DNA test to confirm her identity.
She first went missing on Dec 19 after informing her family that she was heading to a lion dance training session at a club located near Batu 11, Cheras but never returned home, sparking a frantic search for her.

According to Yap’s lion dance coach, she met a 16-year-old ex-trainee two months ago before pursuing a romantic relationship with him.
Before Yap’s disappearance, CCTV footage near her boyfriend’s residence showed her taking an e-hailing ride to his house on the morning of the day she went missing.
However, her boyfriend claimed that after having a meal together with Yap, they had an argument before Yap left the scene.
