Attendees of the Malaysian Open recently took to Twitter to vent their frustration of having their cars stuck by double-parked cars which belonged to Jay Chou fans.
This comes after both events happened to fall on the same day, leading to massive congestion and short tempers.
‘Paid RM20 to get stuck’
One of them, named @_emirN, wrote that he had gone for the Malaysian Open finals and was told by the parking operator to park at a certain spot reserved for attendees.
He added that he was also informed that another lot was specially reserved for concertgoers, leading him to think that it was all planned out.
However, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
…only to find out after leaving the event, they let all those who could not park at their respective parking lots to double park simply in front of random cars.
He also bitterly complained that his RM20 Malaysian Open ticket was “wasted” in having to wait for 50 cars to be towed away as there was only one towing vehicle available.
“The police couldn’t do anything because the area was under the Bukit Jalil Stadium management,” he wrote.
In the end, he and other affected drivers were offered free Grab rides by the parking operator to catch a ride back home.
‘Jay Chou fans, please move your car’
It seemed that @_emirN wasn’t the only one who was affected by the indiscriminate parking, with one even reaching out to TV presenter Ahmad Fedtri Yahya to urge car owners to move their vehicles.
“Abang Ahmad Fedtri, there are 6 cars blocking my car. I came for badminton but now I’m sitting by the roadside listening to Jay Chou while waiting to go home,” he lamented.
Jay Chao fans…

Another blamed Bukit Jalil Stadium’s management for their poor planning and allowing cars to double-park haphazardly.
‼️HORRIBLE parking situation at Bukit Jalil stadium last night (15/1/2022). Two events were going on (#PetronasMalaysiaOpen2023 and Jay Chou concert) & the carpark management allowed cars to DOUBLE PARK.
