In a recent Instagram story, Danish badminton player Anders Antonsen showcased his sense of humor despite a recent defeat.
Antonsen posted a video of himself during a gym session, wearing a Victor exercise shirt emblazoned with the name of his rival, Lee Zii Jia.
In the Instagram story, Antonsen wrote, “Dude just crushed my dream, why the hell am I working out in his shirt already?”
This light-hearted jab comes shortly after Antonsen was defeated by Lee Zii Jia in the quarterfinals of the Olympics, where Lee Zii Jia went on to secure a bronze medal.
The story did not go unnoticed by Lee Zii Jia, who reposted it with a friendly reply, “See you soon, my friend.”
Lee Zii Jia and Anders Antonsen are very close off the court and have even trained together.
In their previous Olympic face-off, Lee also mentioned their relationship in a post-match interview.
“Anders and I have played each other a few times. Even though we are friends, we are clear with each other that on the court, we are enemies.”
“We represent our countries with honour and give our best no matter what happens,” he said.
