In an anonymous post shared on the X platform via the @meinmokhtar account, the man revealed that he experienced what he described as a midlife crisis at the age of 27.

At the time, he made the decision to resign from his job without any backup plan. He shared that he had RM25,000 in savings then, but over time, the entire amount was spent.

Now 29 years old, he said he is slowly trying to rebuild his life and finances, questioning himself publicly with a simple but heavy line asking whether he has failed.

“I am slowly getting back on my feet”

The post resonated for its vulnerability rather than drama. He did not frame himself as a victim of circumstances but instead openly acknowledged the consequences of his choices.

He wrote that he is currently taking things one step at a time, slowly trying to stand again after hitting what he described as a low point in his life.

In a follow up post, the man added more context to what led him to quit his job so abruptly.

He shared that he was struggling with depression after his girlfriend left him, even though he had already planned to settle down and build a future together. The emotional blow, he admitted, affected him deeply during that period.

He also described himself harshly, saying he knew his decision was foolish, but emphasised that his mental health was in a very bad state at the time.

While the post was brief, its honesty resonated with many readers who have faced career setbacks, relationship breakdowns, or mental health struggles in their late 20s.
