Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh has called on DAP deputy chairman Nga Kor Ming to honour his earlier promise to resign after Barisan Nasional secured a landslide victory in the Johor state election.
BN won 48 out of the 56 state seats contested, comfortably surpassing the 40 seat mark mentioned by Nga during the campaign.
Offered to draft resignation letter

In a Facebook post following BN’s victory, Akmal took a swipe at Nga and offered to help him prepare his resignation letter.
“I can even help write your resignation letter,” Akmal wrote.
Reported by NST, this remark was in reference to Nga’s earlier statement that he would step down from his position in DAP if BN managed to win more than 40 seats in the Johor polls.
At the time, Nga appeared confident that BN would not be able to secure such a dominant mandate.
BN wins 48 seats
However, BN went on to capture 48 seats, strengthening its control over the Johor state government.
Pakatan Harapan won the remaining eight seats, while Perikatan Nasional failed to secure any seats.
The result marked a commanding performance for BN and reinforced the coalition’s dominance in the southern state.
Attention turns to Nga’s pledge
Akmal’s remarks are among the latest political exchanges following the election results.
Attention has now shifted towards whether Nga will follow through with the promise he made during the campaign.
BN’s victory is also being seen as one of the coalition’s strongest electoral performances in Johor in recent years.
