In a highly anticipated match at this year’s All England Badminton Championships, the Malaysian men’s doubles team, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, faced off against Indonesia’s reigning champions, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, in the finals.
Despite their high ranking and previous successes, the Malaysian duo fell short, losing to their Indonesian counterparts with identical scores of 16-21 in both games.
Their second loss in the All-England Final
This loss marks the second time Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik have made it to the finals of the All England Championships, only to finish as runners-up.
Their first appearance in the finals was in 2019, when they also lost to an Indonesian pair, Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan.
Now, five years later, history repeated itself as they once again aimed to capture their first championship title at this prestigious event and their first Super 1000 level title, but were unable to overcome their opponents.
