E-scooters might be the trendy way to zip around town, but not everyone seems to know how to handle them.
Sure, they’re eco-friendly and fun, but when used recklessly, they turn from “cool ride” to “danger waiting to happen.”
Middle of the road? Really, guys?
And guess what? That’s exactly what happened in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur, recently.

A TikTok video from user @pelanggaran.trafi went viral, showing eight men riding e-scooters like they owned the streets—literally.

Instead of sticking to the proper paths, these guys decided to roll down the middle of the road, turning what should’ve been a relaxing cruise into a complete hazard.

Not content with just that, some even made their way into the right lane—yep, the one meant for cars overtaking other cars.
Because who needs rules when you’re cruising in style, right? Their little road show didn’t just put them at risk; it was an accident waiting to happen for anyone unfortunate enough to share the road with them.
“Welcome to Malaysia! Where you can see the most ridiculous things on the road. This is next-level dumb. Only in Malaysia do you see stuff like this,” the exasperated video recorder quipped, giving voice to what we were all thinking.
“Not Malaysian!”: Commenters call out reckless riders
And it didn’t take long for the internet to blow up. The comment section flooded with people clutching their pearls over the sheer recklessness.
“They are foreigners pretending not to know the law!!! We Malaysians are disgusted by it.”

“One thing’s for sure, they’re not Malaysian. PDRM needs to do their job. So many of them hang around traffic lights early in the morning.”

“This group is just like those cyclists without reflective lights and the electric motorbike gangs. Do you guys even realise how risky it is to be on the road so early in the morning? We’re just trying to get to work, but it’s hard to see you.
