Children, being the bundles of energy they are, often run around the house while playing with friends or siblings, occasionally bumping into objects along the way.
While most of the time it only results in light scrapes or bruises, there’s still a risk that things may take a turn for the worse, just like what happened to a boy in Melaka.
7yo M’sian boy slips into coma for 2 months after accident
According to a report by MalaysiaGazette, the incident occurred on Mar 11 at the boy’s home located in Paya Rumput.
A source told the online portal that the 7-year-old was playing with his siblings inside the house and running near the dining table when he suddenly fell, knocking his head against the edge of the table.

Following the fall, the boy’s head began to swell. However, things took a frightening turn when he started vomiting, prompting his parents to rush him to the Melaka Hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the boy was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after doctors found bleeding inside his brain.
China Press also reported that the fall also caused the boy to slip into a coma, where he has remained unconscious for the past two months. To make matters worse, doctors have warned that he may be paralysed for life too.

The Chinese daily also reported that a day before the accident, the boy injured his chin after falling inside the classroom.
Fortunately, he didn’t suffer severe injuries from the fall and was allowed to return home after receiving medical treatment.
To all parents, be sure to keep an eye on your children and remind them not to run around too wildly as it can result in life-threatening injuries!
