An elderly man was left severely injured after a terrifying clip showed him being sent flying into the air by a car which rammed into him from behind.

It didn’t take long for the clip to go viral on social media and eventually catch the attention of police, who are now looking into the matter.

In the 10-second clip shared on X by MYNEWSHUB, it showed the old man slinging one leg over his motorcycle which was parked at the emergency lane and continue on his way.

Just before he could do so, a white car suddenly appeared into the frame and collided into him from behind, where he was thrown mid-air due to the crash’s impact.

Towards the end of the clip, several cars honked away in the background, presumably to warn other drivers that an accident had occurred.

Harian Metro later reported that the incident took place under a flyover on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway, near the Sungai Besi Toll on Sunday (Mar 23).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the 76-year-old victim was seeking cover from the rain under the flyover prior to the accident.

Following the crash, the victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for further treatment.

He added police have also nabbed the 40-year-old driver to assist with the investigation under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
