People often say love can be found at the most surprising and unexpected places, and this was definitely the case for a 70-year-old woman, who recently got married to her neighbour who is 23 years younger than her.
The couple, Mohd. Shaiful Nizam Yeop Mat Isa and Rapeah Sani, were just one of the many couples who got married at a mass wedding ceremony in Lenggong, Perak yesterday (May 25).

Sharing on how he met his future wife, Shaiful Nizam said his relationship with Rapeah first bloomed when he moved back to Lenggong and became her neighbour.
“I truly feel grateful. This is my first marriage. Our houses are close by, and she often cooked for me.
I used to call her ‘Mak Ngah’ (aunt), but now she is my ‘sayang’ (beloved),” he told Utusan.
As for Rapeah, she said her marriage to Shaiful Nizam is her third and accepted their union as one of fate, adding she didn’t expect her neighbour to harbour romantic feelings towards her.
The couple were joined by 24 other couples in the mass wedding ceremony held in conjunction with the distinctive date of May 25, 2025, which features a unique number combination, reported NST.
The event was also attended by several politicians, including Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Deputy Home Minister and Lenggong MP Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, as well as former tourism, arts and culture minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.
