7-year-old girl sells art masterpieces for only RM1 each

A Picasso in the making

KUALA LUMPUR – Earlier this week, a Facebook post by Fadhil Zainuddin circulated wildly online, where he shared how his 7-year-old daughter Alya Aqeela set up a stall to sell her artwork for RM1 each.

The idea came out of the blue from Alya when she asked her parents for permission to sell her paintings.

At first her request seemed absurd. However, my wife and I decided to entertain her idea as we didn’t want to break her spirit.

Hence, the family got together and set up a table and tent in front of their house at Kampung Malaysia Raya, Sungai Besi.

Business is booming!

Much to Fadhil’s astonishment, his daughter earned RM 51 within an hour when residents of a local community bought six of her paintings.

I was surprised to see all her paintings being sold out. In fact, she was even describing her artworks to each customer!

Alya’s artistic talents even got the attention of PENTAS, a platform dedicated to preserving digital artworks online using blockchain technology, who were willing to sponsor the cost to display her art in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

Overwhelmed by the positive response, Fadhil said that he’s in the midst of considering putting Alya’s artwork on PENTAS.

Fortunately, he decided to showcase his daughter’s art to the world and signed up for a profile with PENTAS.

Min’s wall be looking a bit bare now and will 100% support Alya!
