A six-year-old boy who was reported missing since yesterday evening (Aug 24), has been found safe and unharmed.
Enrique Bong Kai Cen, who has autism, was last seen at around 4.15pm along Jalan Kim Chu Sin in Batu Kawa, Kuching, yesterday.
His disappearance prompted an extensive search by local authorities and volunteers, who worked tirelessly to locate him.
According to The Borneo Post, Padawan District Police Chief, Supt. Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed that Enrique was located safely near a small riverbank.
Yes, he has been found safe at the riverbank,” he said.
The search operation began after a distress call was made at approximately 7.19pm.
Personnel from various agencies, including the police, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Civil Defense Force, K9 unit, and drone unit, were all involved in the search efforts, alongside Enrique’s concerned family members.
The successful conclusion to the search has brought much-needed relief to his family and the community.
