If you haven’t heard the buzz about Zubir Khan’s hit song “Yennode Macha,” then you might be missing out on one of Malaysia’s latest social media phenomena.
This Tamil tune has captivated hearts nationwide, and it seems even the tiniest fans are getting in on the action.
Recently, a 6-year-old boy stole the spotlight with his impressive rendition of this song, leaving everyone at a restaurant in Melaka in awe.
The adorable video, shared by his mother on her TikTok account @yayarsmn, shows the young star performing the song with a remarkable flair.
Standing solo on stage, this young boy effortlessly belted out the Tamil lyrics with perfect rhythm, all while a musician played the background score.
The video was captured near Melaka Papayun Kitchen, where the boy voluntarily asked to perform at a nearby singing spot.
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the boy’s mother revealed that her son’s love for the song began when she stumbled upon it on YouTube.
“Since then, every day after school or in his free time, he would sing that song,” she said.
The mother confessed her surprise when she first heard her son singing in Tamil.
“I was surprised that he sang in the car on the way home from school. I think he really has a talent for memorising songs because he’s loved singing since he was just two years old.”
She also expressed pride in his ability to sing in Tamil, adding, “It’s amazing that he knows the language.”
When asked if they’d consider exposing him to new languages like Tamil and even Chinese, the mother said she’s very open to the idea.
“Originally, we wanted him to attend a Chinese school for his next year, but since he’s only 6 and we didn’t have the time, we’re thinking of enrolling him in extra language classes.” she told us.
Not stopping there, the young boy also has a dream of meeting Zubir Khan himself.
“He asks us almost every day to find Zubir and make his dream come true,” his mother revealed.
