A 69-year-old driver allegedly selected the wrong gear and crashed his car into a coffee shop in Kuantan this morning.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident happened at about 6:52am at Taman Tas.
Car crashed into pastry and newspaper stall
The Chinese daily reported that the car suddenly surged into the shop and struck a stall selling pastries and newspapers.

The stall was badly damaged, while the total losses have yet to be determined.
Coffee shop owner Jenny told Sin Chew Daily that she was frying noodles in the kitchen when the crash occurred.
She added her brother and several customers were outside the coffee shop at the time and that fortunately no one was standing near at the affected stall.
Driver had reportedly finished reversing
A youtiao seller who witnessed the incident said the driver had already finished reversing the car and was getting ready to leave the scene.

He added the driver may have selected the wrong gear, causing the car to drive directly into the stall.
The driver, who had recently moved back to Taman Tas to live with his younger brother, was not injured in the accident.
