In a shocking incident that has been making rounds on social media, a 67-year-old doctor was brutally assaulted by a 27-year-old man in Ampang.
Yesterday morning at 10:30 a.m., the 67-year-old car was hit from behind while passing through the traffic lights on Jalan Raya Timur in Ampang.
Brutally assaulted by perpetrator
The victim, who was driving his car, was hit from behind by the perpetrator, but he did not stop.
However, the perpetrator caught up with the doctor and blocked his car, before unleashing a violent attack on him.
The incident was captured on camera by a passerby and the footage was uploaded on social media, causing widespread outrage among netizens.
Following a police investigation, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody for questioning at 9:45pm.
“The victim did not stop until he reached a nearby petrol station in Ampang, where he was suddenly blocked by a white Mercedes car. A Malay man got out of the car, opened the victim’s car door, and punched him in the right cheek. He also pulled his hair and kicked him in the waist, said Assistant Director Mohamad Farouk of the Ampang Jaya Police District.
According to him, the suspect has been charged under Sections 323 (intentional injury) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code.
“Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect, out of anger, chased after the victim and blocked him because he was unhappy that the victim did not stop after the accident and then assaulted him.”
The victim, who works as a doctor at a private hospital in Ampang, sustained injuries to his face and waist.
