In a remarkable twist of fate, a 60-year-old renovation handyman from Penang struck it rich after years of betting on his bosses’ car registration numbers.
On May 26, he won a staggering RM10.6 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1, transforming his life overnight.
Betting on bosses’ car plate number
According to The Sun, he had been placing bets on his bosses’ cool European car plate numbers for years, shared his story when collecting his winnings at STM Lottery Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur.
“The bosses drive nice European cars to work, which makes all of us so envious and we were dreaming of driving one too.” the lucky man explained.
“So I started betting on their car plate numbers – 9114 & 2230 – for many years and that was how I won the jackpot,” he said.
Expressing his gratitude, the handyman stated he was ‘very content’ with his win and looked forward to enjoying life with his family.
His winning ticket, a System-4 purchase, earned him RM10,627,969.15, along with an additional RM672 as a System Play bonus.
