While doing repair works on one’s home is not an unusual thing, it’s not everyday where you have someone suddenly succumbing to a sudden death while doing so.
This was what happened to a man in Johor while he was fixing the roof of his mother’s home, where he died out of the blue and had to be carried down by firefighters.

According to NST, the incident occurred at the home of the man’s mother located on Jalan Buloh Kasap in Pekan Jabi in Segamat yesterday (June 29).
It is believed that the 60-year-old victim was in the midst of repairing the roof at around 12.35pm but somehow got his body stuck there. Not long after, the Fire and Rescue Services Department were called to help bring his body down.
In a statement by Segamat Fire and Rescue Services Department officer Muhd Hazim Abdul Razak, he said a distress call was made at around 12.38pm and a team from the Segamat fire station arrived at the scene at 12.45pm.
“Upon arriving at the scene, they found the 60-year-old’s body on top of the roof and the operations commander then led the firemen in bringing it down using a stretcher.
“The victim was later confirmed to have passed away by a Health Ministry officer who was present at the scene,” he said, adding that the body was handed over to police for further action and the operation ended at 1.30pm.
Segamat district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah confirmed the case and said a report was received concerning the matter.
The victim’s remains were sent to Hospital Segamat’s Forensics Department for post-mortem and police have classified the case as sudden death.
