In a tragic event, a police sergeant was found dead at the Rembau District Police Headquarters (IPD), suspected of taking his own life.
The unfortunate incident took place yesterday(1 July) evening.
Sergeant allegedly shoots himself to death
According to Kosmo!, the event occurred at around 6:40 PM in a room in the Crime Investigation Department of the aforementioned IPD.
China Press reported that several attempts were made by his colleagues to gain his attention by knocking on the door numerous times.
However, these efforts were to no avail as the deceased refused to open the door. Moments later, a gunshot was heard from within the room.
Bloodstains were found on the file cabinets, floor, and ceiling, and a .38 caliber revolver was found at his side.
Investigations ongoing
The deceased, a 58-year-old police sergeant, was taken to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (HTJ) in Seremban last night for an autopsy.
Further information regarding the incident is yet to be disclosed.
An official statement is expected to be released in the near future by the Chief of Police for Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd. Yussof.
As the police fraternity mourns the tragic loss, a comprehensive investigation is set to be initiated.
A similar case also took place in Penang last year.
