Parents and guardians are often reminded to keep an eye on the whereabouts of young children under their care as mishaps can happen if they fail to do so.
A young boy in Penang was left critically injured after he plunged from the 12th floor of a condominium through the bedroom window.

According to a report by NST, the incident took place at around 9.20am at a condominium located at Lebuh Tunku Kudin, Jelutong on Saturday (Oct 26).
The victim, a 4-year-old boy, had reportedly fallen from the master bedroom window while his grandmother was inside the bathroom.

When she came out from the bathroom, she noticed that the victim was missing and later found him on the concrete ledge of the condo’s seventh floor.
He was then rushed to the Penang Hospital to receive medical treatment after sustaining severe injuries from the fall.
Victim in a stable condition
Thankfully, the boy survived the fall and is now reported to be in a stable condition, according to Utusan.
Northeast District acting police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said the victim is currently at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital for observation for 48 hours.

He added preliminary checks by police revealed that the bed was placed near an open window but there are no witnesses to corroborate it.
“Investigations are still underway with police recording statements from the boy’s parents and witnesses.
“The case is being probed under  Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect and exposing a child to injury,” he said.
