In a heartbreaking incident, an elderly couple, aged 72 and 82, was found brutally murdered in their own home in Kampung Sungai Penchala.
According to Buletin TV3, the alleged suspect is their 42-year-old son, who has been taken into custody.
Man arrested for murdering his own parents
The events leading up to the tragedy unfolded after a reported fight between the couple and their son, who is believed to be struggling with drug addiction.
During the argument, the son reportedly grabbed a sharp weapon, leading to the fatal stabbing of his parents.
The witness who realized the incident immediately contacted the police for assistance.
However, the source stated that upon the arrival of the police team, both victims were confirmed to have passed away.
The suspect was arrested
The police successfully apprehended the suspect at the scene, and further investigation is underway.
Community members, mainly tenants in the couple’s residence, collaborated with the police to locate and apprehend the suspect, who was found hiding in the Penchala Tunnel.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, it was revealed that the suspect had recently been released on bail following a previous arrest related to his struggles with drug addiction.
A neighbor, requesting anonymity, expressed the community’s deep sorrow, highlighting the familial bonds they shared with the elderly couple, affectionately known as Pak Ngah and Mak Ngah.
The neighbor also disclosed the suspect’s history of drug addiction and the family’s recent attempt to secure his release after a prior arrest.
