A horrific incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning today when a dispute over business profits took a tragic and violent turn in Batu 23, Jalan Kuala Berang, Terengganu.
A 35-year-old woman, known for her entrepreneurial ventures in the hijab and clothing industry, was arrested for the brutal murder of her business partner, a 65-year-old woman.
Business dispute turns deadly
The incident, which occurred at 3 o’clock in the morning, involved a series of violent actions.
The suspect struck her business partner with a car, causing the victim to be thrown into a drain
Terengganu Police Chief, Datuk Mazli Mazlan, addressed the press regarding the incident, shedding light on the preliminary investigations.
According to Mazli, the suspect and her business partner had engaged in a heated argument related to their business affairs while on their way home in Wakaf Tapai, Marang.
After hit-and-run, 15 stabs afterward
As if the hit-and-run wasn’t horrifying enough, the suspect’s actions took an even darker turn.
According to police reports, the suspect proceeded to attack the injured victim in the drain with a knife, leaving her with 15 stab wounds, reported Kosmo.
In a bizarre and callous turn of events, the suspect abandoned the victim and the Honda Jazz at the scene of the crime.
Shortly afterward, she reportedly climbed into another passing vehicle and fled from the area.
Arrest and recovery of evidence
The manhunt for the perpetrator did not take long, however.
Authorities apprehended the 35-year-old woman at her residence in Wakaf Tapai at 11 a.m. on the same day.
A knife believed to have been used in the crime was discovered near the suspect’s home, further solidifying her connection to the shocking incident.
