Annoyed that his one-year-old infant son was disturbing his sleep, a 33-year-old man in Kuching vented his frustration by slapping him.
Utusan Borneo reported that the incident occurred at the man’s home in Kampung Barieng, Singai, in Bau at around 8am on May 4.

According to the facts of the case, Hillbado Bill Cosby’s wife saw him physically abusing their son by slapping him on the left cheek and thigh as he was angered by the baby’s cries, causing him to lose sleep.
Upon witnessing the assault, Hillbado’s wife, who is also a complainant in the case, took their son away and got involved in a verbal argument with him, leading him to assault her too.
At around 2.30pm on the same day, his wife managed to slip away from the house and sought help from a neighbour, who subsequently lodged a police report.
It is also believed that Hillbado was facing financial difficulties in supporting his five children and wife, causing him to take his anger out on his son.
Charged and fined RM20,000 for child abuse
Hillbado was later brought before Judge Musli Abdul Hamid at the Sessions Court yesterday (May 17), where he pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for child abuse.
If convicted, he faces a jail term not more than 20 years, a fine not more than RM50,000, or both.
He was then slapped with a RM20,000 fine in default of 12-months in jail and imposed a two-year good behaviour bond with RM2,000 bail and one local surety.
Hillbado, who was unrepresented, was also ordered to fulfil 50 hours of community service within 6 months under Section 31(2) of the Child Act 2001.
