Mental illness is a hidden demon that many find it hard to conquer and some may commit bizarre acts on themselves or others in order to escape the mental torture.
Recently, a man in Johor Bahru resorted to disemboweling himself and slitting his neck due to mental illness, which shocked onlookers.

The gruesome incident was first brought to light in a 52-second video which went viral on Twitter, where it showed the man lying on the ground with his neck and abdomen slit wide open, reported Oriental Daily.
In the clip, parts of his intestines were seen spilling out and left hanging near a drain as he laid on the grass, leaving a bloody scene.
Believed to be suffering from mental illness
In a statement by South Johor district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, he said the incident took place in front of a restaurant in Taman Suria last Thursday (June 29) at 10.53pm.
“We were notified of the the clip at 9.02am yesterday (July 2) and our investigations along with the doctor’s examination found that the 32-year-old man was in an unstable mental condition and suffered from psychiatric problems when he committed the act,” he said as quoted by Harian Metro.
Raub added that the man was subsequently rushed to Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) for medical treatment and was later referred to a psychiatric expert for further action.
