A video of a hailing rider receiving RM50 in a random giveaway has gone viral again, but with a sad twist.
The rider, 32-year-old Ahmad Farhan Othman, passed away on October 2 while working, leaving behind his wife and kids.
According to Sinar Harian, his wife, Nursuziliana Mohd Johari, 32, said his sudden death came as a shock since he had no health problems.
Worked long hours to support his family
Farhan recently started a new job as a van driver in early September, but he didn’t stop doing food deliveries to make sure the family had enough income.
“Every day, he woke up at 7:30am to get the kids ready, then did Grab deliveries till 10am. After that, he drove the van, moving heavy stuff until 5pm, and continued with Grab till 8pm,” Nursuziliana said.
She added that he had been feeling very tired lately. After the post-mortem, doctors said 75% of his arteries were blocked, likely due to stress and exhaustion.
RM50 video that touched many
In October last year, an influencer did a social experiment at a mall, handing out RM50 to random people. Farhan looked a bit confused at first but was really touched when he got the money, thanking the influencer sincerely.

A loving husband and dad
Nursuziliana described her husband as hardworking, kind, and responsible. She believes the old video went viral again because many people who knew him shared it in memory of him.
“Before he passed, he reminded the kids to always look after each other and their mum, no matter what.” She also mentioned he was especially close to their second child, who looks and acts just like him.
“It all happened so suddenly, and it’s hard to accept since he was still so young. Now, it’s just me raising our children,” she said.
