According to FMT, the petition was launched yesterday after ex-PKR Sarawak chief Baru Bian urged GPS not to work with PN and its component party PAS, calling them “racist bigots.”

We pride ourselves in having a multi-racial and multi-religious society and we have managed to co-exist harmoniously for so long. We must not let anything or anyone threaten this harmony,

Sarawak Christians, he said, have condemned Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s comments last week, in which he claimed Jews and Christians were using Pakatan Harapan (PH) to christianize Malaysia.

Baru Bian also condemned PAS president Hadi Awang for showing himself to be a religious and racist bigot whose only political agenda was to implement Syariah laws throughout Malaysia.

GPS chairman Abang Johari Openg had previously announced on Monday that GPS would form a government with PN, BN, and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

However, GPS leader Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said that the coalition will work with the coalition of BN’s choosing.
